Than named to scoliosis leadership cohort

Khoi Than, MD, professor of neurosurgery, has been named to the Scoliosis Research Society's (SRS) leadership program called LEAD (Leadership, Education, and Development).

A year-long program, LEAD aims to prepare the next generation of leaders to make significant contributions to the field of spinal deformity, according to SRS. Twenty-five SRS members were named to the 2024-25 cohort.

Than received his MD from Johns Hopkins University and completed neurosurgery residency at the University of Michigan and a 1-year minimally invasive and complex spine surgery fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He joined the faculty of Oregon Health & Science University in 2015 and joined the faculty at Duke in 2019.

Than’s research interests are in minimally invasive spinal deformity surgery and outcomes after spine surgery.
