Lad inducted into the AANS

Nandan Lad, MD, PhD, has been inducted into the American Academy of Neurological Surgery, a prestigious honor conferred during the Academy’s annual meeting in October 2024 in Half Moon Bay, California. 

“This is truly a humbling milestone,” said Lad. “The Academy represents the pinnacle of excellence in neurosurgery, and I’m deeply grateful for the nomination and support. It’s a testament to the collaborative work we do every day to advance patient care and innovation.”

The American Academy of Neurological Surgery is recognized as the premier neurosurgical society in North America, with membership granted through a rigorous selection process. The Academy’s mission is to foster pioneering research, from laboratory investigations to clinical advancements, aimed at improving outcomes for patients with neurological and surgical disorders.

At a prior meeting,  Lad presented his team’s recent advances in neuromodulation and spinal cord injury rehabilitation, highlighting the potential of innovative technologies to transform patient care.

Lad serves as the director of Duke NeuroInnovations and the Duke Neuro-Outcomes Program.
