American Brain Tumor Association

Founded in 1973, the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) was the first national advocacy organization committed to funding brain tumor research and providing information and education to patients, caregivers, and their loved ones. For 50 years, the ABTA has been providing comprehensive resources that support the complex needs of brain tumor patients and caregivers, as well as the critical funding of research in the pursuit of breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care.
The ABTA is committed to providing resources and advocating for individuals facing a metastatic brain cancer diagnosis. As part of these efforts, the ABTA has created a Metastatic Brain Tumor Collaborative with a mission of identifying needs, increasing awareness, and accelerating research and treatment discovery.
Society for Neuro-Oncology

The Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to promoting advances in neuro-oncology through research and education.
Melanoma Research Foundation
The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma. Committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma, the MRF also educates patients and physicians about prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma. The MRF is an active advocate for the melanoma community, helping to raise awareness of this disease and the need for a cure. The MRF’s website is the premier source for melanoma information seekers.
Kidney Cancer Association
The Kidney Cancer Association was founded in 1990 by a small group of patients and doctors and has grown into an international non-profit organization. The KCA seeks to be a source of education and resources for patients, caregivers, and anyone impacted by kidney cancer; promotes scientific advances through research symposiums and a robust grant program; and participates in legislative advocacy. Visit kidneycancer.org to find a growing list of available resources.
Duke Oncology Patient/Family Advisory Council
The Duke Oncology Patient Advisory Council serves to provide the perspectives and recommendations of patients, families, and loved ones to Duke Cancer Institute with the goal of enhancing patient-centered care; to respect the needs of the human spirit; and to bring together patients and their caregivers as partners in healing, education and research.
