Duke University School of Medicine has awarded the Rory David Deutsch Professor of Neuro-Oncology distinguished professorship to David Ashley, MBBS, PhD. Ashley is a Duke Neurosurgery faculty member and director of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke.
Distinguished professorships are awarded to faculty who have demonstrated extraordinary scholarship in advancing science and improving human health.
Dr. Ashley's primary research focus is investigating the role of immunotherapy as a novel approach to the treatment of tumors of the central nervous system. In addition to his laboratory role Dr. Ashley is involved in the design and application of a variety of clinical research protocols in the treatment of children with malignant brain tumors.
