Led by Duke neurosurgeon Nandan Lad, MD, PhD, Duke NeuroInnovations support health technology innovators to realize their potential for the greatest impact on health care. The program uses expertise across the Duke campus and a systematic approach to needs finding and the invention and implementation of new biomedical technologies.

Key components of the program include classes in medical technology innovation; mentoring of residents, students, and faculty in the bio design process; career services for students interested in medical technology careers; and community educational events. Areas of focus include drug-device combination, virtual reality, and non-invasive biomarkers of disease.
