Priscilla Graham, human resources director in the Duke Department of Neurosurgery, received the staff award in the Michelle P. Winn Inclusive Excellence Award program, which celebrates exceptional achievements in diversity and inclusion in the Duke University School of Medicine.
For this year’s awards, four individual recipients and one team recipient were chosen from the more than 5,500 staff members, 2,200 faculty members,1,500 students and 1,000 residents and fellows who make up the School of Medicine.
Priscilla Graham came to Duke in 2008 and is the Human Resources Director in the Duke Department of Neurosurgery. She is responsible for providing human resources leadership within the many areas of Neurosurgery with a focus on strategic planning, talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, salary administration and employee relations.
Priscilla is on the School of Medicine Inclusion Council and has worked tirelessly to assist in the establishment of the department’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has been successful in making sure the committee’s membership includes members of all areas of Neurosurgery. She utilized her love for organization and event planning to help plan one of Neurosurgery’s most inclusive holiday parties. She has been passionate about educating the committee and those around her about diversity and inclusion.
Priscilla and her identical twin sister were born in Cold Springs, NY, but raised in Durham, NC. Her parents were lifetime IBMers and taught their three girls the importance of hard work and dedication. Priscilla completed her Associate’s Degree at Durham Technical Community College and her Bachelor’s then Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management at Baker College Center for Graduate Studies.
Priscilla enjoys spending time with her 22-year-old son PJ and her husband of three years, Logan. Combined, Priscilla and Logan have a large family and they love to create opportunities to gather family together to celebrate almost any happy occasion. Priscilla loves the outdoors, and many weekends you can find her in her father’s backyard fishing and relaxing by the pond. You may even find her with Logan hunting from time to time.
