The Pediatric Brain Tumor Lab focuses on the identification of novel therapeutic targets of pediatric brain tumors and optimizing the delivery of therapeutic agents. These targets include tumor cells and the pathological blood tumor barrier.

Research Projects

Optimizing the Convection Enhanced Delivery of Targeted Agents for Midline Gliomas

This project uses novel agents that target specific tumor-drivers of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) delivered directly into the tumor by convection enhanced delivery (CED). Using real-time MRI, we are able to identify agents that improve the efficacy of therapeutic agents delivered via CED.

Oncolytic Viral Therapy for Medulloblastoma

In collaboration with the Gromeier and Bigner labs, this project uses the oncolytic poliovirus (PVSRIPO) to target medulloblastoma in the adjuvant setting and in the leptomeningeal compartment.
